Alana (she/her)

I am passionate about Women's Mental Health and providing counselling for 2SLGBTQ+ folx in a safe, inclusive space.

I believe that there is power in sharing our energy, telling our stories, connecting to nature, sharing space, shedding tears and even laughter. There is also healing power in reconnecting to ourselves.

My approach is feminist and person-centred. I utilize CBT, DBT, and narrative therapy to support understanding the stories of self and patterns that are both helpful and challenging, creating space where clients can choose to re-author all or part of their personal narrative, and feel empowered to make change that supports their well-being.

I provide a safe supportive space where we engage in meaningful authentic conversations. I support each person as a unique individual by meeting them exactly where they are on their journey. I utilize a holistic approach which encourages each individual to reclaim their autonomy through a life which focuses on balancing mind, spirit, body and soul. Together we can rediscover your inner trust, turn suffering into achievement, explore your experiences, values, dreams and discover your purpose in life.

My approach is anti-oppressive, anti-racist, trauma-informed, and person-centred (guided by the principles of logotherapy).

I support individuals and couples from all walks of life. I have experience working with the following:

Intimate partner violence

  • Sexual abuse

  • Grief and loss

  • LGBTQ2S including Gender or Sexuality identity fluidity

  • Relationship concerns

  • Addiction

  • Depression and Anxiety

  • Behaviour difficulties

  • Self-harm

  • Stress

  • Low self-esteem

  • PTSD

I have been described as passionate, empathetic, non-judgmental, and easy to speak to. I am grateful for these qualities and am devoted to using my gifts as a tool to help others see their value, discover their passions, and pursue their purpose.

Both Cara and Alana are Registered Saskatchewan Social Workers and approved mental health providers for Victim's Services and Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB).
